PLASTICS AND POLYMERS
Tintium 2500 series ( RY 2500 and GY 2500 ) pigments are suitable for both thermoplastic as well as thermosetting plastics. The inherent properties of these pigments make these suitable for deep coloration of various polymers, plasticised PVC, plastisol inks, speciality paints and automotive paints where process temperatures can reach 260.c or even 300.c for short durations. Tintium series pigments are for use in everyday plastics and in injection moulding, extrusion and blow moulding. Tintium pigments are dispersed easily into the plastic by extrusion and using an adhesion promoter, (i.e.) surface active agent or paraffin oil. Tintium pigments are best suited for polymer coloration because they are insoluble in the polymers under their process conditions also. Blooming and bleeding which occur due to migration are avoided by using Tintium. These pigments also do not recrystallize causing structural weakness or loss of hiding power. Tintium pigments when used in packaging films are extraction proof and physologically safe. If transparent films are needed Tintium 2500 series must be used. The forte of Tintium pigments is the high dispersability which gives value for money, besides the aesthetic look. the polymers are glossier when Tintium is used. Tintium pigments do not cause shrinkage when used in large parts or products such as road dividers and milk crates. The high light fastness of Tintium is a major advantage to plastics exposed to bright sunlight like tarpaulins, awnings, etc. PVC and Tintium are made for each other. In PVC wire coating, Tintium is used to pass all standard tests for dielectric strength and other electric properties. Dispersion and suspension grade PVC can be colored with Tintium and pigment dispersion is achieved by calendering. PVC cables coloured with tintium can with stand high voltages( 1100 Volts ), and pass tests such as IS-694-1964 and IS-5831-1970 Polymer fibres such as Polyolefine, Polyster or Nylon fibres can be coloured in the melt with tintium pigments. The fibre strength remains unaffected. The fibres attain very good gloss. OTHER APPLICATION AREA Printing Inks Rubber Industry Paint Industry Spin Dyeing Industry Leather Cloth Industry |
