TINTIUM
High Performance Organic Pigments
GENERAL INFORMATION

These pigments developed by the in-house R&D team at Chempon are soft textured, producing bright and clean shades with high tinting strength and outstanding single pass dispensability in Printing Inks, Paints, Plastics and other similar mediums.

Most of the Yellow and Orange pigments used all over the world are of Benzedrine (deceptively called diarylide) type or of dangerous metals such as lead, chromium or cadmium. In the case of Benzidine (diarylide) pigments, the azo compound cleaves with biological fluids and the carcinogen Benzedrine is released.

Tintium series of speciality colorants are available in 6 different shades of Tintium Yellow, Tintium Orange and Tintium Black.

Tintium is truly the future of the plastics industry. It serves in economical and environmental considerations as well as weatherfast properties.

Tintium pigments are best suited for offset printing inks, publication gravure inks, package inks, flexo and screen inks. In paste inks such as offset inks TINTIUM series pigments afford the necessary viscosity. Tintium pigments are totally fast to water adn so "toning" problemms do not occur in the offset printing. Gel varnishes can be used in making offset inks using Tintium. But using gel varnishes the tone for drying is much shorter as in web offset.

For gravure inks which require more flow TINTIUM 2500 series may be advantageously used. Due to high tinctorial value, smaller dosages may be used. There is no tendency to crystallise in solvent medium. Though easy flowing, the ink after application on the paper assumes thixotropy and hence sharp images were the result. In metal decorating inks Tintium withstands the temperatures involved with ease.

In flexo and screen inks due to the inherent stability to solvents, Tintium are the pigments of choice.

Tintium pigments are of high performance isoindoline family, But suffer from comparatively poor alkali resistance. But we have developed a "AR" series of all the shades which are resistant to ammonia soda ash and other mild alkali.. and some what resistant to caustic soda also. This is of higher performance compared to similar alkali resistant grades produced in rest of the world.
