All the chelating agents manufactured by Harsha Chemicals P. ltd are entirely biodegradable. Biodegradability has been tested to pass OECD (organization for economic corporation and development) under series 301 tests.

EDTA, DTPA and such chelating agents are not biodegradable. So, there is always a danger of remobilization of metal deposited in the earth and passing them back into water bodies. For this reason a number of countries have banned use of EDTA. Even the countries where there is no ban on EDTA and the other old generation sequestering agents are actively looking for better alternatives .EDTA prevents recycling of process water since it continues to remain in the water.

He global ban on EDTA, DTPA etc. may soon be expected. Chelating agent NTA is a known carcinogen. The future of chelating will be only with chemicals of the genre HASHPURE.
